Apprentice Coordinator - Jerry Melson
AGE: An applicant must be 18 years of age.
EDUCATION: An applicant must possess a high school graduation diploma or a GED at time of application, and have completed a one year course of high school algebra or a semester of college algebra, with a minimum "C" grade. Must also be able to read, write and speak the English Language.
PHYSICAL: An applicant must be physically able to perform all work of the trade. When required and paid for by the Apprenticeship Committee, an applicant will be subject to a drug test and may be given a physical examination.
AVAILABILITY: An applicant must be available for work and be generally employable.
EVALUATION: Will be based on testing procedures (25%) and oral interview (75%).
Procedure for applicants who have the "Basic Requirements"
1. An applicant will have an official copy of transcripts from their High School and College, if attended, mailed to the apprenticeship office.
2. An applicant whose school transcripts include the basic educational requirements, will complete the apprenticeship forms at the Apprenticeship office. An applicant number will be issued and future references must be referred by that number.
The Office is located at:
(a) A written selection test consisting of Algebra and Reading Comprehension with a qualifying score.
(b) Color Perception - must pass.
4. The Committee meets regularly at 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday
of each month in the conference room at the Electrical Apprenticeship
